PALM COAST CITY SPECIAL ELECTION FOR MAYOR

JULY 27, 2021

BACKGROUND

Milissa Holland resigned her position as Mayor of Palm Coast on May 18, 2021.  There will be a special election to replace her as Mayor on July 27, 2021.

NON-PARTISAN

This is a non-partisan position.  There are Democrats and Republicans mixed together on the ballot, and the (D) and (R) won’t appear beside their names.  The person who gets more votes than any other candidate will win.

WHAT’S AT STAKE IN THIS ELECTION?

1)    Whether the City Council becomes crazy far-right or becomes a center to left-center.

The City Council now has two Trump-loving council members.  Electing either
Trump-loving Alan Lowe or David Alfin as Mayor would add a third and confirm the council become crazy far- right.

2)    Whether the City hires a forward-thinking, competent, professional City Manager—or one in the back-pocket of the far-right

3)     Whether the City Council makes forward movement on issues that matter to Democrats:

  •  Homeless
  •  Affordable Housing
  •  Living Wages
  •  Environment

4)    Whether the City Council sets the tone for a kinder community.
We need elected leaders who do not diminish those whose beliefs are not in line with theirs.

5)    Whether we can recruit more local Democrat candidates going forward, win more local elections and show State and Federal Candidates that Flagler County is an active Democrat community

WHO CAN VOTE?

Only voters who reside within the city boundaries of Palm Coast may vote in this election.

Precincts that can vote:

  8 (Seminole Woods), 9, 10, 11, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19, 20, 21, 23, 24, 27, 31, 33(Marina Del Palma), 37.

CAN DEMOCRATS WIN THIS?  If Democrats vote, yes. When we vote, we win.  The Republican vote is splintered among four candidates.
